In which division will my child play during the Spring 2023 Season?
The Spring 2023 season’s division is based on the age a player will turn during the 2023 calendar year.* So even if your child does not turn 8 until December 2023, they are considered AYSO age 9 (because they will turn 9 in 2023) and need to play in the 11U division in the Spring 2023 season.
We’re a fully insured club and to be insured we must follow the AYSO National guidelines. Below is a chart to help. This is a link to further explanation of the age/division classification from AYSO.
Birth Year | Age in 2023 | Division for Spring 2023 |
2020
| 3
| Playground
|
2019 | 4 | Playground |
2018 | 5 | 6U |
2017 | 6 | 6U |
2016 | 7 | 8U |
2015 | 8 | 8U |
2014 | 9 | 11U |
2013 | 10 | 11U |
2012 | 11 | 11U |
2011 | 12 | 14U |
2010 | 13 | 14U |
2009 | 14 | 14U |
*One exception. AYSO allows players to move up in division, but never down. This means if your child was assigned to 6U they can play in 8U or even 11U, but no player assigned to 8U can play in 6U, no player assigned to 11U can play in 8U, and so on. During the registration process, you will see only the division based on the participant’s date of birth. To request to be moved up, please contact us.
